About #
Quentin Fennessy is both an AI-pilled indie hacker and an enterprise consultant based in Boston. He’s passionate about generative AI, family histories, technology, and many other topics.
Quentin started his career at Bell Labs (post-divestiture) working on the STU-III secure communications system. Subsequently he spent several years in semiconductor factory automation at Sematech. He next worked in design engineering at Advanced Micro Devices, as technical lead for the team that built the internal compute cloud used for design and verification of leading edge semiconductor products. Along the way this team accidentally invented infrastructure as code, although they lacked a cool name for it. Later he worked as director of platform engineering at Akamai, responsible for the Akamai Linux kernel. He now works at Accenture on generative AI projects and cloud architecture, while also pursuing private projects.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
